N.I.C.U. Family Support:
Rainbow Connection Family Resource Center provides support, resources, and information to families who have been impacted with an N.I.C.U. experience. We currently serve four county hospitals; St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura and Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
Our Family Resource Center provides a monthly N.I.C.U. resources class and a separate support group. We provide resources, information and a safe place to share feelings, joys, triumphs and the occasional setback.
Our N.I.C.U. resource parents are available for support 24/7. Our resource parents have had training from developmental care in the NICU, to Family Resource Center Networks of California (FRCNC) training on working with parents with a baby in the NICU.
Resource parents have had children in an NICU. Our resource parents share their stories and information from the library but they do not give medical advice. Support can be provided in English or Spanish.
